Britain's Lone'er Kavanagh produced the biggest win of his career, upsetting former UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno by unanimous decision in Mexico City. The 26-year-old unranked fighter secured scores of 49-46, 48-47 and 48-47 against the sixth-ranked Moreno in front of the Mexican's home fans.

Kavanagh accepted the bout on just three weeks' notice after replacing Asu Almabayev, who withdrew due to injury. Coming off his first career loss in August, Kavanagh controlled the fight with effective leg kicks before hurting Moreno with a flurry of punches in the second round. He successfully defended multiple takedown attempts to secure the victory.

The win elevates Kavanagh toward the top end of the division with his 10th victory in 11 professional fights. Moreno suffers his fourth defeat in six outings after being dominated by the British fighter's game plan. Kavanagh called the victory "a legendary moment" against a fighter he watched as a child.
