Josh Tarling will compete in the Vuelta a España starting Saturday, just days after his younger brother Finlay died in a crash during the Volta a Portugal. The 19-year-old Finlay was involved in a high-speed collision with a van that had strayed onto the road during stage eight of the Portuguese race. Josh, 22, confirmed he will ride for his team Netcompany Ineos, with team director Geraint Thomas stating it was entirely the rider's choice.

The opening stage in Monaco is a time trial, an event where Josh excels. Finlay and Josh's parents, Dawn and Michael, expressed their full support for their surviving son's decision. "He has chosen to do so in honour of his brother Fin, with the full support of his family, surrounded by a team who have been incredibly supportive of whatever decision he made," they wrote on social media.
