Josh Kerr completed his triumphant return from injury by reclaiming the 3,000m title at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Poland. The 28-year-old Scot, already a three-time world champion, powered through the final lap to secure Great Britain's first medal at the event. His victory came six months after a calf tear derailed his world 1500m title defense in Tokyo.

Kerr's win was particularly significant as it featured the complete lineup of Olympic 1500m medallists going head-to-head. The British star had previously won this title on home soil in Glasgow two years ago. His time of seven minutes 35.56 seconds demonstrated he's fully recovered and back to his best form.

American Cole Hocker, who had beaten Kerr over two miles at the Millrose Games earlier this season, took silver. Frenchman Yann Schrub claimed bronze. The result marked a significant statement from Kerr, who had been denied Olympic gold by Hocker in 2024 and watched his rival win the world 5,000m title last year. This victory proves Kerr has regained his competitive edge at the highest level.
