Francesca Hennessy will defend her WBC Silver Bantamweight title against Aurora De Persio on 30 May at Wembley Arena, with the fight shown live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer. The bout serves as chief support to Adam Azim's clash with Steve Claggett on the Boxxer card. "This is another important test for me," said the 21-year-old Hennessy. "I've always wanted to challenge myself against good opponents because that's what will prepare me for world title fights."

Hennessy extended her perfect record to eight wins with victory over Ellie Bouttell in her last outing, while De Persio brings an eight-win, one-defeat record from nine professional fights. A victory would set up a potential clash with undisputed bantamweight champion Cherneka Johnson later this year. The Italian represents a step up in opposition for Hennessy, who has dispatched her previous opponents with relative ease.

Hennessy has her sights set on becoming the youngest undisputed champion in boxing history. That record is currently held by Gabriela Fundora, who achieved the feat at flyweight aged 22 years and 218 days. Hennessy, who turns 22 in October, would need to claim all the belts by 26 May 2027 to break that record. "I know what I want to achieve in this sport and every fight is another step towards becoming world champion," she said.
