Haris Rauf Named Marquee Player for The Hundred Auction

Fast bowler Haris Rauf has been listed as a marquee player for The Hundred's men's auction, with a reserve price of £100,000. The 32-year-old Pakistani bowler is among 14 Pakistani players set to be auctioned next week, down from the initial 712 men who registered. This follows controversy over potential nationality-based exclusions.

Rauf's inclusion comes after reports that franchises linked to the Indian Premier League would not consider Pakistani players. The England and Wales Cricket Board and eight Hundred teams issued statements affirming no player would be excluded based on nationality. The 14 Pakistani representatives in the men's auction ranks third among overseas countries, behind South Africa and Australia.

In the women's auction, only Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana remain from Pakistan's initial four nominations. The women's auction takes place on March 11, with the men's auction following the next day. Franchises nominated players they were interested in, with each player requiring just one nomination to make the final list. The auction represents a significant moment for international cricket talent in The Hundred format.
