South Korea's Haeran Ryu holds the lead at the AIG Women's Open after the second round at Royal Lytham & St Annes. The 25-year-old is aiming to become only the fifth woman to win three majors in a calendar year.

Ryu, who birdied the 18th hole, is one shot ahead of Japan's Shiho Kuwaki. Despite an early stumble, Ryu recovered with five birdies to finish the round under par, building on her strong opening score. "The last hole is so important... I always want to make a good score on the last hole," Ryu stated.

Thailand's Jeeno Thitikul, who led after the first round, dropped to joint fifth. World number two Thitikul carded a two-over-par 73. American Yealimi Noh joins her on five under par. England's Lottie Woad is on two under par, five shots off the lead, after a mixed second round. Charley Hull and Nelly Korda are also in contention, with Korda recovering from an opening round two-over-par to shoot 68.
