Charley Hull, seeking her maiden major win, is among the favorites at the AIG Women's Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes. She is joined by world number five Lottie Woad, offering hope of another British champion on home soil, following Catriona Matthew in 2009 and Georgia Hall in 2018.

Hull, who has five major runner-up finishes, expressed frustration with her major career but showed grit at the US Open. "It'd just be great to think that one day when I do, if I do win the major, I will be able to sleep at night," she stated. Despite a mixed season, she is determined to perform.

Woad, in her third appearance, has achieved top 10s previously and proved her links prowess with a Scottish Open victory. Though she finished 37th last week, she feels better prepared for Lytham's challenges. "You've just got to try and miss all of them and there are a lot off the tee," she noted regarding the bunkers.

At just 22, Woad is ranked fifth globally with two professional wins. She has learned valuable lessons about not being too hard on herself after recent close calls, including a missed putt for victory in a play-off. Both Hull and Woad carry the hopes of the home crowd for a significant victory.
