A fatal collision on 9 June near Brunel Way in Bristol left Donna Crossman dead while she headed to a Take That concert at Ashton Gate Stadium. Fiona Hodge, driving a red Citroën with two friends, veered onto the pavement, sending Crossman over the railings. The crash occurred after Hodge spent the day walking in the Mendips.

At Bristol Crown Court, Hodge testified she had no recollection of the moments before the crash. She was later diagnosed with epilepsy, a condition that may have triggered a sudden seizure during driving. The jury spent just over six hours deliberating before finding her guilty of causing death by careless driving.

Crossman's father, Steve Price, described her as “perfect” and “adventurous,” noting her two‑decade RAF career and generous spirit. He praised her kindness while lamenting the loss of a woman who “put a lot in” and “had so much more to give.” The family thanked the court for its dignity during the proceedings.

The verdict underscores the risks of undiagnosed medical conditions behind the wheel and the importance of timely diagnosis. Hodge will face sentencing later this year, while the Crossman family continues to mourn a beloved community figure whose death shocked fans and locals alike.
