Team Northern Ireland boxers Michaela Walsh and Kaci Rock both secured silver at the 2026 Commonwealth Games after losing their finals by unanimous decision. Walsh, the 33-year-old Holy Family fighter, has earned a medal in each of her four successive Games appearances, claiming a silver after previously finishing second in 2014 and 2018.

She missed a second gold, which she won in Birmingham in 2022, when she was outclassed by Jaismine. The match saw three judges score 29‑28 for Jaismine and two 30‑27, with Walsh falling behind early after a cagey first round she lost 3‑2. A second round was close, and even though Walsh pushed hard for a stoppage in the third, Jaismine's superior performance secured the gold.

Kaci Rock earned her first Games silver after falling to England's Sacha Hickey. Hickey dominated with four judges scoring 30‑27 and one 29‑28 for the English fighter. Rock, at 23, had a spirited bout but could not overcome Hickey's advantage in the third round.

The men's light‑middleweight final will feature Jon Mc Connell against Wales' Orlando Holley‑Sotomi at 13:15 BST, offering bigger stakes for NI's first gold of the Games.
