New Cliftonville director Conor Devine believes European nights at Solitude are "not too far away" following the Toronto Investment Group's takeover of the club. Members voted 81% in favour of the deal, with TIG acquiring 90% shares and committing £3million over 36 months. Devine, a former player and local coach, emphasized the investment is a "passion project" rather than a short-term plaything.

He highlighted the potential for Champions League qualifiers, referencing Cliftonville's 2013 encounter with Celtic as inspiration. The 48-year-old, part of a four-director TIG team, stressed the importance of preserving the club's identity, ensuring the ground, colours, badge, and culture remain protected.

The takeover enables Cliftonville to meet match-funding commitments for over £6million in stadium improvements through the NI Football Fund. Despite initial resistance and a failed attempt in January, the completed deal marks a significant turning point for the 147-year-old club. Devine noted TIG's 25-year commitment, viewing the investment as an "impact investment" into north Belfast.

"If everyone buys into this, the community, the members and even the members who were not so sure, collectively as a team and an organisation, other teams and other people right across the island of Ireland will know that Cliftonville is a force to be reckoned with," Devine concluded.
