Christian Horner Eyes Alpine F1 Stake

Christian Horner is part of a group of investors exploring a purchase of a stake in the Alpine Formula 1 team. The French squad confirmed multiple interested parties have held discussions, with minority shareholder Otro Capital considering selling its 24% stake. This move comes after Horner's 2024 sacking from Red Bull following a turbulent period.

Alpine's statement clarified talks are with existing shareholders Otro Capital and Renault Group, not with executive adviser Flavio Briatore. The team's valuation has grown alongside F1's boom, with McLaren and Mercedes recently sold for billions. Forbes last year estimated Alpine's value at $2.45bn, making it an attractive target for investors.

Horner, who led Red Bull to 14 titles over two decades, seeks a controlling role and significant shareholding. A minority buy-in wouldn't satisfy those ambitions unless Renault relinquishes its 76% majority. His potential return to the paddock remains a major talking point as the 2026 season approaches.
