Chinese Taipei's Olympic champion Lin Yu-ting has been cleared to compete again by World Boxing after the governing body completed its appeal process regarding her eligibility. The boxer underwent the organization's mandatory sex test, which detects the SRY gene indicating male biological sex, and was ultimately deemed eligible for the female category following thorough review of medical documentation.

Following an initial test in 2025, the Chinese Taipei Boxing Association submitted extensive medical evidence to the World Boxing Medical Committee. The body's independent experts confirmed Lin meets all requirements with no competitive advantage. World Boxing Secretary General Tom Dielen acknowledged the difficult period for both the boxer and her association while praising their cooperation with the process.

The CTBA expressed "tremendous relief" at the decision, which reinforces principles of fairness and athlete welfare in international boxing. Lin has now been registered for the upcoming Asian Boxing Championships in Mongolia from March 29 to April 10, marking her return to competition after the eligibility controversy that has affected several female athletes in recent years.
