New Zealand's Amelia Kerr 179 not out off 139 balls powered her team to a record-breaking 350-8 chase of 346, the highest successful ODI run chase in women's cricket history. Kerr came in at 21-1 and struck 23 fours and one six at a blistering strike rate of 128.78, supported by Izzy Gaze's 68 and Laura Wolvaardt's 69. The Kiwis reached their target with two balls to spare, levelling the series against South Africa.

Kerr's innings surpassed India's 341-5 chase against Australia in the 2023 World Cup semi-final. This feat underscores Kerr's dominance, especially against South Africa, where she previously inspired New Zealand to a T20 World Cup final victory in 2024 and holds the women's ODI record of 232 not out. Kerr was also named ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year in 2024.
