Adele Nicoll has been named to the Team GB squad for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, making history as the first British female to compete in monobob. The 29-year-old from Welshpool, a three-time British shot put champion, secured her spot after winning gold in the European Cup earlier this month.

Nicoll, who was a travelling reserve for the two-woman bobsleigh event in Beijing 2022, will also pilot the two-woman sled in Italy alongside former sprinter Ashleigh Nelson. Her selection underscores a busy schedule, as she could also feature at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer.

Team GB's bobsleigh squad includes six athletes, with Brad Hall and Taylor Lawrence in the two-man event, joined by Leon Greenwood and Greg Cackett for the four-man. The skeleton team is also set, featuring World Cup winners like Matt Weston, who defended his overall title.
