Great Britain's Adele Nicoll expressed being "in shock" after finishing 18th in the Winter Olympics monobob at Milan-Cortina. The Welsh athlete made history as the first woman to represent Team GB in the event but lamented her final run, calling it "the worst I've ever had" and not reflective of her capabilities.

Nicoll sat 11th before the final heat before clocking the slowest time of 1:01.03, dropping seven places. Her contrasting performance to Jamaica's Mica Moore, who placed 14th and described herself as "so happy," highlighted the emotional spectrum of Olympic competition. USA's Elana Meyers Taylor won gold at age 41.

The three-time British shot put champion, who overcame serious injury to compete, will now focus on the two-woman bobsleigh where she pilots alongside former GB sprinter Ashleigh Nelson. Nicoll acknowledged the monobob was "never the strong event" for Team GB but expressed pride in her three solid runs that showed her potential for future competitions.
