Adams seeks Stormers scalp in URC play-off

Wales wing Josh Adams returns to the Cardiff starting line-up for a crucial URC play-off match against Stormers in South Africa. Adams, who previously faced the Springboks with the Lions in 2021, recognizes the challenge of beating South African teams on home soil. Cardiff will attempt to repeat their Arms Park victory against Stormers that secured sixth place, though they've won only two of 10 URC trips to South Africa.

Adams missed time with a neck spasm and pair of concussions after looking back to his best during the Six Nations. The 31-year-old, second only to Tomos Williams in Wales' summer squad, credits the strength and conditioning team for his recovery. "Having good quality on the bench is really important if you want to win games out here," Adams noted ahead of Cardiff's first play-off appearance.

The wing signed a contract extension in April and credits coach James Nolan's work with the backs for his improved physical condition. "He has made a massive difference to how I feel and move," Adams stated. Cardiff must overcome their poor record in South Africa to advance, with Adams hoping to provide late try-scoring opportunities against a Stormers team he previously beat in Cape Town with the Lions.
