Two-time Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas is set to make her London City Lionesses debut against Manchester United when the 2026-27 Women's Super League season kicks off on Friday, 4 September (19:00 BST). The ambitious side, managed by Eder Maestre, have made eight signings including former United goalkeeper Mary Earps, and face a United team hoping to bounce back after missing Champions League qualification.

The BBC will broadcast 25 matches, beginning with eight-time champions Chelsea hosting Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on 5 September. The Blues will play all home league matches at the main stadium this year, ending a nine-year stay at Kingsmeadow.
