Thomas Taylor received a five-year ban from all football activity after assaulting Daniel Brookwell during a fifth-tier Welsh league match between Porthmadog FC and Trearddur Bay on 17 January. The Football Association of Wales disciplinary panel found the violent conduct charge proven following written evidence submissions.

The incident marred what should have been a routine fixture, escalating into serious assault requiring legal action. Beyond the five-year suspension, the panel also imposed a fine and ordered Taylor to cover costs. His ban runs sine die - indefinitely suspended with no review possible until the period expires in January 2026.

Taylor has until 12 June to appeal the decision. This represents one of the harshest punishments in Welsh football history, demonstrating that physical violence against opponents carries severe consequences regardless of the league level. The case sends a stark warning about player conduct.

The FAW disciplinary panel made it clear that assaults on fellow players cannot be tolerated in the sport. Such lengthy suspensions are rare and typically reserved for the most serious incidents involving physical harm.
