Wales head coach Craig Bellamy has warned his squad about the threat posed by Bosnia's veteran striker Edin Dzeko ahead of their World Cup play-off. The Welsh team is aiming for back-to-back World Cup appearances, having qualified for the 2022 tournament in Qatar. Bellamy's side secured home advantage for the semi-final after a dominant 7-1 victory over North Macedonia in their final group match.

Bosnia-Herzegovina finished second in their qualifying group behind Austria, with Dzeko contributing five goals in eight matches. Bellamy praised Bosnia's organization and efficiency, noting they don't need many chances to score. The Bosnian team features few players from Europe's top leagues, with many developing their skills in countries like Sweden and Germany before representing their homeland. Bellamy highlighted their high football IQ despite limited top-tier experience.

The play-off winner will advance to the expanded 48-team World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, facing co-hosts Canada in Toronto on June 12, Switzerland in Los Angeles on June 18, and Qatar in Seattle on June 24.
