Ulster's winless start to the United Rugby Championship reached four games as they were beaten 34-26 by the Bulls in Pretoria. Former Ulster star Marcell Coetzee starred for the Bulls, scoring two tries despite a 10-minute sin-bin. From 21-0 down, Ulster mounted a comeback to secure a four-try bonus but missed a losing bonus point when Curwin Bosch's late penalty missed.
Richie Murphy's side now have their first winless start since 2008-09. Ulster face the Stormers in South Africa on 31 October before the URC takes a four-week break for November's Nations Championship fixtures.
