Tennent's Soccer Sixes Returns with Legends Edition

All 12 Scottish Premiership clubs will field a team in a legends edition of the cult indoor competition, the Tennent’s Soccer Sixes, which has been revived with the official backing of the SPFL. The event will take place at Braehead Arena on the weekend of 3‑4 October and will be shown on Premier Sports. Group stages will occur on Saturday, with the winner and runner‑up from each of the three regional groups, plus the two best third‑placed teams, moving on to the knockout phase.

Every match is guaranteed a winner: if a game ends in a draw after normal time, a penalty shoot‑out decides the victor and grants a bonus point; the sin‑bin is also active. The original Sixes ran for nine years from 1984 until 1993, when Partick Thistle – a Championship side this year – lifted the trophy. “The Tennent’s Sixes has a special place in the hearts and minds of a generation of football fans,” said SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster.
