Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson refused to comment on speculation linking the Championship club with Matias Moreno, a 22-year-old Argentine defender from Fiorentina. Reports suggested an agreement had been reached, but Parkinson said: "I think if we end up signing every player we're linked with, we'd have about 40 players in the building just now." He emphasized focusing on the current squad ahead of their second Championship season.

Wrexham began pre-season with a 0-0 draw against Wisla Krakow, using 22 players for 45-minute halves each. Parkinson praised the fitness-focused approach, noting most players are "where we need to be." The club faces Manchester United in Helsinki on Saturday, then travels to the US for games against Leeds United in Tampa on 26 July, Liverpool in New York four days later, and Sunderland on 2 August.

Parkinson stressed that early pre-season fitness overrides results: "The fitness element overrides anything really because we've got to get the lads prepared for a Championship season." He acknowledged some players returning later with minor issues but said the squad feels "in a good place" ahead of the demanding schedule.
