Cardiff City defender Noah Anyadike, 15, started their second-round EFL Cup defeat against Norwich City, becoming the youngest player in EFL Cup history. This achievement marks the third time in under 12 months that a Cardiff player has claimed the club's youngest player record, following Rob Tankiewicz and Axel Donczew. While Anyadike now holds the EFL Cup youngest mark, Reuben Noble-Lazarus retains the record for youngest player in English Football League history, having debuted at 15 years and 45 days in 2008.

Manager Barry-Murphy, formerly of Manchester City's youth setup, praised Anyadike's physical readiness and emphasized the need to expose him to high-level challenges while continuing his education as a developing talent.
