Neil Lennon has thrown his support behind John McGlynn as a potential Celtic manager, suggesting the Dunfermline Athletic boss deserves consideration for the role. Speaking ahead of Saturday's Scottish Cup semi-final between Dunfermline and Falkirk, Lennon praised McGlynn's coaching credentials and longevity in the game.

McGlynn, 64, has guided Falkirk to a top-six finish in the Scottish Premiership after winning successive promotions to the top flight. The former Hearts, Raith Rovers, and Livingston manager previously worked as a scout and analyst at Celtic from 2015 to 2018. Lennon, who had two spells as Celtic manager and won the Scottish Cup four times as both player and manager, described McGlynn as "one of the best coaches in the game here."

Celtic have had three different managers this season, with Martin O'Neill's second interim period running until the season's end. While acknowledging his comments might not please Falkirk supporters, Lennon emphasized his respect for McGlynn's achievements throughout his career. Dunfermline, under McGlynn's leadership, have already eliminated Hibernian and Aberdeen in this season's competition, setting up their clash with Falkirk at Hampden.
