Morecambe Football Club Faces Winding-Up Petition Amid League Struggles

KPM Groundworks Limited has filed a winding-up petition against Morecambe Football Club, the National League side confirmed. The club only learned of the action yesterday, seven days after it was lodged, citing a legacy debt from before the Panjab Warriors takeover in August. This latest financial blow follows a summer of turmoil, including a last-minute takeover rescue from administration and a brief suspension from the league due to handover issues with the previous owner, Jason Whittingham.

Morecambe currently sit perilously close to relegation, second-bottom in the National League with just seven matches left after last season's Football League exit.
