Middlesbrough have agreed a deal for Tottenham striker Will Lankshear that could reach a club-record £20m. The initial transfer is valued at approximately £10m, with an additional £10m contingent on various incentives.

Lankshear, aged 21, has not yet finalized personal terms, with reported interest from other clubs. Last season, he was on loan at Oxford United, contributing 11 goals and four assists in 44 Championship matches. His impressive performance for Spurs' youth team, where he joined from Sheffield United in 2022, included 23 goals for the Under-21 side that won the Premier League 2 title in 2023-24, earning him player of the season honors.

He made his senior debut in October 2024, scoring his first senior goal in the Europa League. This potential move marks Middlesbrough's fourth summer signing, following acquisitions of Miles Peart-Harris, Jeremy Sarmiento, and Kyle Joseph. The club also recently saw midfielder Hayden Hackney depart for Everton for approximately £16m.
