France superstar Kylian Mbappe has publicly denounced Paraguayan senator Celeste Amarilla, calling her "despicable" and unfit for office following racist remarks she posted on X after Paraguay's World Cup exit. Amarilla's comments targeted Mbappe's background and education, prompting a strong rebuke from the forward who stated he would "never allow people like her the freedom to spread their hatred and racism."

The French Football Federation (FFF) has announced it will pursue criminal charges against Amarilla, labeling her statements as "utterly abhorrent and unacceptable." The FFF views the remarks as an insult to the French national team and the nation it represents, vowing to prosecute the matter.

Amarilla's comments echo those made by former Paraguay goalkeeper Jose Luis Chilavert, who previously described the French squad as "a squad from Africa." FFF president Philippe Diallo condemned Chilavert, calling him a "disgrace" and stating his remarks undermined football's values of respect and diversity. Mbappe, meanwhile, is enjoying a stellar tournament, currently tied as the top scorer with seven goals, including a crucial penalty against Paraguay.
