Mbappé: Dictator Meme Shows 'Lack of Awareness'

Kylian Mbappé criticised a viral meme depicting him as a dictator, saying it "shows a lack of political and human awareness in people." The meme, showing the France and Real Madrid striker in military uniform, may stem from his 2024 lawsuit against a kebab shop owner or his influence at clubs.

In an interview with L'Equipe, Mbappé said he saw the humour but was concerned it made light of a serious topic. "To be compared to people who murder others... I don't think I've ever done anything like that," he said.

Mbappé also addressed the nickname Mobutu, given by France teammate Ousmane Dembélé, referencing dictator Mobutu Sese Seko. "He's just having a laugh," Mbappé smiled.

The 27-year-old has five goals in five games for Real Madrid and next plays Saturday when José Mourinho's side host Rayo Vallecano.
