London City Lionesses are reportedly close to signing France forward Kadidiatou Diani for a fee exceeding £500,000. Diani, who announced her departure from European club Lyon despite a year left on her contract, is expected to join other high-profile arrivals at London City.

This move signifies a significant investment by London City, who are understood to have outbid other European clubs for the 31-year-old forward. Diani previously played for Paris St-Germain and Lyon, scoring 41 goals in 93 appearances for the latter. She has also earned over 100 caps for France and was a top scorer at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

Diani will be reunited with London City owner Michele Kang, who also owns Lyon and the Washington Spirit. London City, who finished sixth in their debut Women's Super League season, have been active in the transfer market this summer.
