Kettlewell Stays as Ross County Manager After Relegation

Stuart Kettlewell will remain in charge at Ross County following their latest relegation from the Scottish Championship. The 41-year-old manager faced a difficult spell in charge as the County suffered automatic relegation, sparking uncertainty over his future. Club chairman Stephen Frail backed Kettlewell to lead the recovery, saying the board believes in his ability to rebuild something sustainable.

The second relegation in two seasons marks a disappointing decline for a club that was just one place away from European football four years ago. Assistant Stephen Frail will continue in his role, while John Robertson has left after serving as interim boss earlier this season. The restructuring suggests a clear-out is underway as County look to rebuild for the third tier.

Five players whose contracts had expired have been offered new deals, but experienced heads Ross Laidlaw, Alex Iacovitti, Jordan White, Jay Henderson, Declan Gallagher and Uche Ikpeazu will depart. A further eight loan players, including goalkeeper Trevor Carson, are also leaving the club.

Kettlewell now faces the task of revitalising a squad that narrowly avoided the bottom flight in 2023-24 before dropping into the spoils system this term. The challenge is to restore County's identity and compete for promotion while managing a significant rebuild off the pitch.
