Jersey Bulls Women suffered their first-ever league defeat, losing 3-0 at Sutton United Under-23s in the Surrey Premier Division of the South East Counties Women's Football League.

The islanders had a perfect record last season, winning the Surrey Division One title in their first season in the English football pyramid. However, they have now lost for the second successive game, following an FA Cup defeat last week, highlighting the challenges of stepping up in level.

After a goalless first half, Sutton took the lead within three minutes of the restart when Rachel Marlow flicked on a free kick. Neriyah Anderson-Bailey made it 2-0 soon after, scoring from the edge of the box after a corner, before Maya Anderson wrapped up the win.

Jersey Bulls travel to face Oxted and District next week, who have drawn and lost their opening two games of the season.
