West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen will remain at the club for their return to the Championship after relegation from the Premier League. The 29-year-old England international, who joined from Hull City in 2020, has made 280 appearances and scored 85 goals for the Hammers.

Bowen, captain since 2024 following Kurt Zouma's departure, famously netted the stoppage-time winner against Fiorentina in the 2023 Uefa Conference League final in Prague, securing West Ham's first major trophy in 43 years. Despite interest from Premier League clubs, he has committed to the 2026-27 season under his current contract running until 2030.

Speaking to the club website, Bowen said his motivation is "bringing this club back to the Premier League where we belong." He met directors Daniel Kretinsky and Jiri Svarc in Prague and was convinced by their ambition. Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo also confirmed he will stay for the new campaign.

West Ham begin their first Championship season since 2011-12 away at fellow relegated side Burnley on 16 August [16:00 BST], following a Carabao Cup tie against Portsmouth.
