Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has rejected a new contract offer from Celtic, opting instead to join Bursaspor, who have recently been promoted to Turkey's second tier. This move comes as Celtic faces a shortage of centre-forward options, with uncertainty surrounding the future of Japan international Daizen Maeda.

Iheanacho, formerly of Manchester City and Leicester City, scored nine goals for Celtic last season after joining as a free agent. Despite a hamstring injury that sidelined him for a portion of the season, he proved impactful, scoring six goals off the bench in Celtic's final nine games, contributing to their league and cup Double.

Celtic's sole signing this summer has been Colombian striker Camilo Duran. Iheanacho's previous club was Sevilla, from which he joined Celtic in 2025.
