Hearts have finalized a deal to acquire Laurent Mendy, the captain of Forest Green Rovers. The midfielder has been a target for the Tynecastle club for the past two transfer windows, with a previous bid rejected in January.

A breakthrough has now been achieved for the 29-year-old French-born player, who is poised to become Hearts' 10th summer acquisition. Mendy joined Forest Green in 2025 from Macclesfield and accumulated 47 appearances last season for the English National League outfit.

Discussions concerning personal terms are currently in progress as Hearts gear up for the initial leg of their Champions League second-round qualifier against Sturm Graz on Tuesday.
