Nottingham Forest have agreed a club-record £50m deal to sign Liam Delap from Chelsea. The transfer is understood to be worth at least £45m, potentially rising to £50m with add-ons. Delap is scheduled to have a medical on Wednesday.

Delap had interest from several Premier League clubs, including Everton, but Forest have secured his signing. Chelsea signed Delap last summer for £30m from Ipswich and valued him at around £50m this summer, potentially making a £20m profit on the striker who scored two goals in 41 appearances last season.

Forest's previous record signing was Omari Hutchison, who joined for £37.5m from Ipswich in August 2025. Tim Sherwood, speaking on Soccer Special, backed the move, saying Delap has ability and needs regular play. Sherwood believes Delap will score goals under Oliver Glasner, who likes a big striker.

Forest are also pursuing other targets, including Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall and a right wing-back, while several players could leave on loan.
