Harry Kane Downplays Premier League Return to Chase Shearer Record

Harry Kane says the desire to return to the Premier League to chase Alan Shearer's scoring record has diminished since joining Bayern Munich in 2023. The England striker, who scored 213 goals in the English top flight, remains 47 goals shy of Shearer's mark of 260.

Kane has been in exceptional form since his move, netting 73 goals last season and recently winning the Bundesliga Golden Boot. He enters the final year of his four-year contract but is set to discuss a new deal with Bayern.

"When I first left, for sure it was something I thought - I would definitely be coming back. That itch isn't there as much anymore," Kane said. "I am extremely happy here in Munich, it opened my eyes to a totally different world of football outside of England."

The England captain emphasized how settled his family feels in Germany and praised the team and management at Bayern. "Never say never, but for now I am concentrating on Bayern Munich and we will see what the future holds."
