Birmingham City has secured the signing of France youth international Chancelle Effa Effa from Le Havre for a fee reported to be just over £100,000. The 19-year-old striker, who progressed through Le Havre's academy, made her senior debut at 15 and helped the club achieve promotion back to the French top flight. She signed a professional contract in December 2022 and had one year remaining on her deal.

Effa Effa has represented France at various youth levels, from U16s to U23s, and was part of the squad that won the Women's U17s European title in 2023. She has scored 17 goals in 28 appearances for France's age groups. "I am very happy to be joining Birmingham City - such a historic club - and experience the Women's Super League," stated Effa Effa. "I sensed a genuine desire to build something strong, with great ambition."

Manager Amy Merricks expressed delight at the signing, calling Effa Effa an "exciting young forward with huge potential." Merricks highlighted her experience in the French top flight and consistent international performances, looking forward to her development and impact at Birmingham City.
