The BBC has extended its rights agreement with UEFA, securing live broadcast of all Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland fixtures until June 2028. The deal guarantees that every match will air free‑to‑air across the UK, marking the broadcaster’s first full‑time coverage of the UK’s devolved nations since March 2025.

BBC plans to show about 60 live matches over the next two years, including autumn Nations League fixtures and the Euro 2028 qualifiers. Every game will stream on BBC television, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds, ensuring fans can follow their team from any device.

Record viewership followed the 2025 World Cup qualifiers, with Scotland’s win over Denmark pulling in 1.1million viewers in Scotland and an average of 2.7million across the UK. Wales’ play‑off semi‑final drew 1.71million viewers nationwide, while Northern Ireland’s game against Germany attracted 1.11million UK‑wide.

The BBC’s continued coverage reinforces the network’s role in uniting communities around national pride and highlights the importance of live sports for fan engagement. With Euro 2028 set to span nine UK stadiums and the Republic of Ireland, audiences can expect the same full‑coverage package on BBC platforms.
