Alex Scott is set to make his England debut in upcoming friendlies against New Zealand and Costa Rica. The Bournemouth midfielder travels to Florida as part of a supplementary squad while awaiting five players from European finals. Despite not making Thomas Tuchel's final 26-man World Cup squad, Scott remains eligible for these warm-up matches.

Scott was in England's provisional 55-man squad for Qatar but was cut from the final party. Tuchel praised the midfielder's character following his omission, noting Scott's "outstanding" reaction to the news. Four other players—Rio Ngumoha, Josh King, Jason Steele, and Ethan Nwaneri—will remain with the camp throughout.

All five additional players can feature in the friendlies before the main squad reports. This gives Scott a strong chance to earn his first senior cap before the tournament. The move provides valuable game time while maintaining squad depth should injuries occur before England departs for Qatar.
