Ruben Amorim Eyes AC Milan Job After United Exit

Former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has risen to the top of AC Milan’s hiring list. The 41‑year‑old Portuguese left United in January after 14 turbulent months. Milan, eager to reverse a slide after failing to reach the Champions League, has spoken with Amorim’s representatives, who remain in high favour.

After a nine‑point cushion over fifth, AC Milan collapsed, winning only three of the last ten games and collecting just ten points. They finished a point behind Como, who grabbed the final Champions League berth on the last day. Allegri’s May exit left the club ready for a new direction to chart a new course this season.

Other candidates include Mauricio Pochettino and Oliver Glasner, while Ralf Rangnick has ruled himself out by extending his Austria tenure to 2028. Should Amorim accept, he will confront his former club in a pre‑season friendly in Wrocław on 15 August, a week before the Premier League kicks off and setting the stage for his debut.

Milan’s recent struggles have shocked fans and analysts alike. The club’s inability to secure Champions League football after a historic run in 2022‑23 has dented revenue and morale. Appointing a former United manager signals a shift toward international experience, hoping to restore the club’s competitive edge for the future and its prospects in Europe.
