E-sports brand RAWM has announced the Nyx60, a 60% gaming keyboard featuring light-guided optical switches, set to launch on Kickstarter on September 3. While Hall effect keyboards dominate the market, RAWM joins Razer as one of the few major brands pursuing optical switch technology. The Nyx60 carries a $199 MSRP but will offer an early bird price of $99 for backers who place a $1 reservation. RAWM claims its optical switches provide more stable actuation detection than magnetic alternatives, boasting 0.01 mm precision for both actuation and rapid trigger functions. The company states it is the first to offer light-guided optical switches in a full aluminium keyboard, arguing the tech minimizes the impact of magnetic field and temperature fluctuations on trigger signals.

The keyboard utilizes a CNC aluminium frame with a tray mount and four layers of sound-damping materials to reduce reverberation. It features polycarbonate keycaps in a Cherry profile, an 8 kHz polling rate, and a 7° typing angle. The Nyx60 supports analogue features including Rapid Trigger (RT), Dynamic Keystroke (DKS), SOCD, and Mod Tap. RAWM also plans to release the Nyx60 as a PCB kit with custom PCB art for custom builds.
