The Athletics’ stadium on the Las Vegas Strip is taking shape with the second steel truss arch added this week, giving the structure a look reminiscent of Australia’s famed Sydney Opera House. Tyler Van Eeckhaut, project director for contractors Mortenson‑Mc Carthy, said the center truss was set and the next months will see a tremendous amount of work.

President Marc Badain confirmed the $2 billion, 33,000‑person capacity domed ballpark remains on schedule for the 2028 season. He praised the local workforce and said theMilestoneimum trusses will anchor the south Strip skyline, becoming the first building seen from Harry Reid Airport.

Earlier concerns about a temporary plaza vanished when Bally’s Corp. secured financing for a $1.19 billion mixed‑use project, eliminating the need for the A’s to build a provisional setup. Nick Tomasino noted the project is in its final throes of securing funding for Phase One.

All but six seats in the Athletic Club have sold, with about half of club‑level seats gone. A majority of ticket buyers are from Las Vegas, and a group that includes former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and Atlanta Falcons minority owner Rashaun Williams purchased an undisclosed minority stake in the ballclub.
