Olympic champion Rhys McClenaghan failed to reach the pommel horse final at the World Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam. McClenaghan's score of 14.400 in qualifying placed him 10th, marking a disappointing return after missing all of 2025 due to shoulder surgery. The 27-year-old, a two-time world champion and three-time European gold medalist, finished sixth at the Commonwealth Games in July—his first major competition since his injury.
He followed that with a seventh-place finish at the Europeans in Zagreb in August. Despite his storied career, McClenaghan has struggled to regain top form since his recovery.
