For one final time, Formula 1 cars will race around the sand dunes of Zandvoort this weekend as the seaside circuit prepares to host its final Dutch Grand Prix.

After its re‑entry in 2021, the track announced its exit at the end of 2024. Ahead of the final chequered flag, we recall the racing action, seaside setting and orange crowds at Zandvoort.

The 2021 edition remains the most memorable. Nobody expected a return after the pinnacle of motorsport left the Netherlands following the 1985 race. COVID restrictions made the Dutch GP one of the first major events after a long pause.

On that Sunday, tension built among everyone. Verstappen’s pressure was immense, yet he delivered the dream winner. Team principal Christian Horner summed up the weekend: “It’s like I’ve been in a nightclub non‑stop for four days.” That edition still stands out.
