The Cadillac Formula 1 outfit has hired Marcin Budkowski as team principal, replacing Graeme Lowdon. Budkowski, 49, brings 25 years of F1 experience, having worked as an aerodynamicist at Prost, Ferrari and McLaren, then running the FIA's F1 technical department. He later joined Renault as executive director, sharing team principal duties with Davide Brivio in 2021. Since leaving Renault, he has done consulting and punditry.

“Cadillac Formula 1 Team has an extraordinary foundation and ambition,” Budkowski said. “This is a phase of huge opportunity… My focus will be on aligning our people, tools and information flow so the right decisions are made quickly.” Budkowski will start at Zandvoort next weekend. The team is building new infrastructure in Indiana and currently lies last in the constructors’ standings.

CEO Dan Towriss thanked Lowdon for his role in founding the team. “Marcin's appointment marks another important step… His contributions helped establish a strong foundation,” Towriss said.
