World Baseball Classic Fallout

Venezuela captured its first World Baseball Classic title Tuesday night, outdueling the United States 3-2 in a dramatic finish after Eugenio Suárez delivered the decisive late-inning blow. Despite Bryce Harper tying the game in the eighth, the heavily favored American squad ultimately succumbed, leading to laments over the star-studded offense lagging throughout the tournament. Attention is already turning toward the next iteration, with early speculation centering on which MLB stars might anchor the Team USA roster in 2026.

MLB Roster Moves

In personnel news outside the tournament, relief pitcher Tommy Kahnle secured a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox, according to multiple reports released earlier today. This move signals the club’s continued efforts to bolster its bullpen depth ahead of the regular season schedule, even if the deal does not guarantee a spot on the 40-man roster initially.
