The Slate Truck is a unique modular electric pickup that ships from the factory as a bare-bones two-seat vehicle in slate gray. With over 200 add-ons available, it can be transformed into a five-seat SUV or Jeep-like option. Our ideal build draws inspiration from the 1970s Ford Bronco, blending retro styling with modern EV capabilities.
Starting at $24,950 for the base model, our customized build approaches $40,000. We opted for the squareback SUV variant at $29,950, which includes a roll cage, extra airbags, and a bench seat. The Michigan Copper full wrap ($670), Throwback body decals ($320), and Creamsicle shoulder decals ($190) enhance the nostalgic appearance.
Additional modifications include upgraded bumpers, fog lights, fender flares, and a spare tire carrier. A lift kit (unpriced) adds two inches of height, paired with all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels ($1,100). Despite its rugged look, the rear-wheel-drive truck is better suited for dirt roads than off-road trails.
The roof rack ($650) completes the exterior, while the interior features Throwback references. However, the estimated 205-mile range limits long road trips, keeping this '70s Bronco cosplay grounded.
