In an emotional memo obtained by 9to5Mac, Cook reflects on his tenure and expresses deep gratitude to Apple employees. "I love this company and the team behind it," Cook writes, emphasizing that any success is "all because of you." He highlights Apple's unique culture, stating, "This place is proof that culture triumphs over everything," and credits the team for their shared belief in leaving the world better than they found it. Cook notes he takes "enormous comfort in handing the helm to someone as brilliant and wonderful and capable" as Ternus, adding, "Few people understand what it takes to build products that change the world the way John does." While stepping down as CEO, Cook confirms he is not leaving Apple and looks forward to his new role at Apple Park.

He also posted on social media thanking the Apple community, writing, "My title changes tomorrow, but the love I have for the Apple community never will.".
