Honda will debut its new Formula 1 power unit at an Aston Martin filming day this Wednesday at the Hungaroring, moving up the introduction from the planned Dutch GP at Zandvoort. The decision follows a confidence-boosting Hungarian Grand Prix where Aston Martin's B-spec AMR26 showed clear pace improvement.

"Honda trackside general manager and chief engineer Shintaro Orihara said the team collected vital data in Hungary to support power unit integration. The new-spec engine will run in the AMR26 for the first time during Wednesday's filming day before the summer shutdown, with its first official session at Zandvoort on 21-23 August."

At the Hungarian GP, Lance Stroll finished 13th ahead of team-mate Fernando Alonso, who reached Q2 for the first time this season. The performance lifted Aston Martin ahead of Cadillac, Williams and Haas. Alonso called it a "good step forward" and expects further gains with the engine upgrade at the Dutch GP.
