F1 Speed Limits: Monaco GP Engine Maps

The FIA is implementing safety measures for this year's Monaco Grand Prix, disabling active aerodynamics throughout the lap for the first time this season. Normally, teams deploy wings in specific track zones where cars aren't at grip limits. Monaco's unique challenges, particularly the bumpy Turn 1 braking zone, prompted this decision to prevent lock-ups at higher speeds.

Additionally, the FIA introduced a specific Rev1 engine mapping exclusively for Monaco. While standard mode delivers 350kW up to 290km/h before reducing power, Monaco's version limits 350kW output to just 200km/h. Beyond that speed, MGU-K power drops sharply to 100kW at 270km/h and zero by 300km/h, significantly reducing top speeds in critical sections.

The tunnel and uphill section toward Massenet will see reduced speeds due to these power restrictions. Monaco's numerous braking zones make energy management less critical, allowing teams to focus on safety without compromising efficiency. These technical regulations demonstrate the FIA's commitment to managing increased power outputs in the sport's most demanding street circuit.
